Three months has passed. In the end of the first book Adam received a very mysterious and ominous call. Luckily, we get explonation to it right away in the beginning. Adam and Amelia are blackmailed, but I'm not gonna spoil the fun, so who's the blackmailer, that's something you have find out yourself!

When it comes to business, everything is looking bright and heading up for Adam and Amelia! Though our very dr. evil, aka T.J.'s daddy, tries his best to ruin everything. We'll also find out if T.J. is trustworthy.

We'll also see more of Patty, who is somewhat outsider in Adam's and Amelia's story, but I enjoyed her storyline what so ever. We start to understand her more, and we'll also see more of her and Chad (remember, her sisters fiance, him and Patty and some steamy moments..).
Which leads to one of my favorite topics, meaning romance! Adam is going out with Lisa, only problem is they never actually go out. As if Lisa would be sneaking behind someone's back? No, it can't be!

And Amealia, oh Amelia! She has a crush! I'm so touched and happy and feel all pink and cuddly! But, there's some trouble in her paradise. And this trouble will be The Cliffhanger. Just aargh! But Amelia will be making some friends, yay!

I enjoyed this as much as the first book, actually even a little bit more, since we got to see Amelia growing as a person and taking chances outside her comfort zone. That made me really fell in love with her!

It took me about two hours to read this, and I was so sad when it was over. Especially since I didn't have the third book! I nearly cried. And the huge cliffhanger in the end DID-NOT-HELP. Geez Sadie, you're killing us with your cliffhangers! :D

Required Reading: Which book from your school days do you remember reading & enjoying?

Is there a book published now that you'd like to see in today's curriculum for kids?

There wasn't so many books we were force to read, but these two were just amazing! I read them in high school, and been meaning to buy them ever since.
If it wasn't for school, I never would've read them, so I really owe thanks to my Finnish teacher Sirkka! :)

Some of the most amazing books I've read were written like a hundred years ago, so I tried to stick with somewhat new books.

I also would like to add Twilight to this category, but if that came true, I probably would be assasinated, so for the sake of my health I left that out.

Meaning I'll try to write reviews instead of watching Supernatural, reading knitting and sewing magazines, playing with Photoshop, browsing online fabric shops..

Amelia and Adam are twins. They're also orphans, bounced from foster home to foster home, but now they're doing better as a scholarship students in college. Even though they're twins, they aren't excactly identical, since the other one, Amelia has the the brain, and Adam the social skills.
Along the way they meet some mean people, but in the end, they have their lucky break.

Okay, first of all: Amelia makes me feel like I'm a total zero! That's sad. Yes, she's all awkward and I love her and everything, but man, do I hate her brain! Hell, where's my lucky break!? But at least she gave me a hell of a boost and I started actually doing something. I did got over this envy-why-i-suck-so-bad- phase and in the end, I really liked her. She's a brilliant girl with a sence of justice and I couldn't stop reading this story! Mainly because of Amelia.

In the beginning I actually cheered for Adam since he's sort of an underdog; he has no special skills, except getting along with people, but the only way he goes to Silicon Valley is because of his sister, not really because of himself. Which kinda sucks. On the other hand it feels like Adam is taking advantage of Amelia's talent and it did bother me occasionally. But like with Amelia's huge brain, I got over this too. Even though it did feel sometimes like there's people who can do it, and there's people who are bathing in your light, so to say. But hey!, it doesn't bother Amelia, so let's forget about it!

This story did remind me of one book series I've read: Gossip Girl. Except I couldn't stop reading this one, and I had to force myself into reading Gossip Girl (6 books, then I started to feel like I was losing my will to live. But I do love the TV show! Okay, let's move on). These two series share some similar quality, but The Start-Up has more depth and action and man, did I love the action! It was quite exciting, I can tell you that.

The story was quite short, but since I had the second part of this series already on my computer, I didn't mind. Though it kept me up too long, I should've been sleeping, but I couldn't stop reading. So prepare yourself ;) And WARNING, get the second part before reading this, because there's huge cliffhangers.

Book Blogger Pride: What do you take pride in when it comes to blogging?

Overall, I take pride in everything when it comes to blogging! So it's really hard to specify areas, but guess I can give it a try!

I still suffer a little from that new blogger's syndrome, meaning I doubt myself, a lot.
But little by little I've learned to take pride in any post I make. Especially when it's a review.

Last weekend a new friend of mine told that she would never be able to write a review, no matter how much she would love to do it. Guess that opened my eyes a little, since I've kind of take it for granted and thought that every person in the planet can do it.
This gave me some perspective and made me appreciate my abilities more.


Connecting with authors is something I'm so, so proud of. As I've mentioned earlier, it makes me feel really warm and fuzzy when I'm contacted by an author.

When I got my first ARCs, I nearly cried 'cause I was so happy and proud and and.. Then there was one person who laughed at me and pointed her finger. She told me this "whole thing" was just so ridiculous. That made me feel down and unappreciated, but luckily I was able to realize that there's something wrong with that person laughing at me, not with me and/or my work.


I also get that warm and fuzzy feeling when I have a new follower! There would be really no point in this thing, if there were no readers, so any comment or a new follower I take pride in.

My husband is losing his mind, because every day I tell him if there's new followers or amazing comments or or or :D So if I haven't emphasize this enough, every new follower and every comment is hugely appreciated and reminds me why I love to do this blog :)

When ever I feel like I have no energy for this thing, I remind myself how good it feels to get comments and communicate with the whole book blogging community :)
