Someone described this book with a term "housewife porn"; there's no need for a plot just as long as there's lots and lots of porn. Yeah, that's pretty much it.
Erotic? There's hardly anything erotic with two people just going at it like rabbits. Amusing? Naaaah. Deeply moving.. What book are they talking about?!

I wanted to stop reading this half way through, because that's when author ran out of ideas. But I continued, because the first half was at least some what entertaining. Definitely not believable, but vaguely entertaining. I kept going, but as said, author ran out of ideas. And guess what she does? Writes two more books.

I didn't really like the characters, because they were just repeating the same thing over and over again, they had no personality and they really were just dull.
I usually dislike male characters who say things women wants them to say.
Like you can imagine there's this lady playing with Barbie and Ken, imitating male voice and she's grunting

"oh baby, you're so hot! You make me hot. I'm on fire", says Ken. High-pitched Barbie continues "But.. I've never been touched before." Ken grunts, again "You're.. a virgin? OMG." High-pitched "Yeah." Ken is like "Wow. That's awesome. I wanna fuck you." High-pitched "Yeah." Ken is like "Show me how you touch yourself." Barbie, high-pitched and shocked: "I would never do that! Don't you see I'm all innocent and even though I'm 45, I've never touched myself before?! Because only you make me hot." Ken, like "WOW. Like AWESOME. Like you're so awesome I come like now."

Oh, except in this case dirty- Barbie and -Ken sound British, even though they are American. What's the deal with that?!
Don't get me even started with the freaking twitching palm, inner goddess, schizophrenic behavior, red room of pain.. This sucked so bad. And now I have headache, apparently even thinking about this book makes my hurt.

Despite her brother's advice to shut up, Mary can't keep her trap closed and manages to piss off Mom so much it comes to blows.

Mary doesn't know what to do, and all her attempts to get help are rejected. When she finally plans her escape, she fails to consider how it could destroy them all.

First of all.. Don't you just love the cover?! I absolutely fell in love with it the moment I saw it! And I was glad to notice this isn't book with just a pretty cover, but with amazing story inside.
This author has definitely interesting style of writing; we get to read about the time before Mary ran away and time after that.

This is Mary's story. She's only twelve, but she's suffering. Her big sister, Gwen, rules the household. She tortures Mary and emotionally blackmails their parents. Everyone's on edge and Mary gets the most of it. Time after time people tell her to just shut up.
Mary's family is poor, since her father lost his job. That probably would be tolerable if only their family wasn't so disfunctional emotionally.
In the past, Gwen was a normal, happy kid, until something happened. She tried to tell her parents about it, but they didn't believe her. That was the turning point.
After that Gwen has been bitter and unhappy and she's testing the limits nonstop. She has an awful boyfriend, who gets her pregnant time after time. Yeah, he really is a creep. Especially when he shows some sick interest in Mary, who's only 12! And it's pretty obvious Gwen notices this too, why else would she act so jealous and mean when ever she caughts The Creep and Mary hanging together?

This really is a sad story. There's bunch of unhappy and twisted people just living their lives, without thinking the consequences. Mary gets the blame most of the time, even though she's just a kid.
In the end, Mary's parents stand up and try to fix things by standing up to Gwen, but is it too little, too late?
They can't really blame Gwen for everything, either. They let Gwen rebel and do what ever she wants, but they still were the parents. Gwen got pregnant when she was 17. She was just a kid, too. A kid who would do anything to get the attention she craves, but you can only blame the parents for letting things get so out of hands. And a 17 year old really shouldn't have to make that big decisions! Her parents should've stand up a long time before she got pregnant. But when the parents really aren't involved in their childrens lives, things happen.

I was really glad when things got better for Mary. Though I'm pretty sure things may get harder at times, I'm sure she can handle them. She survived from years of bullying, so she can survive from anything. And she really was one of those characters you wish all the happiness world can give.

Ordained is a book about vampires, but it really isn't your typical vampire story. Our main character is Abby, who is somewhat lunatic, if you wanna put it nicely. She definitely holds a grudge against the Order, but you can't really blame her, since the Order raised her to be a hunter in the most extreme ways. You could really call an experiment gone wrong.
Little do they know she's the one who holds the key to their fate.



As mentioned, Abby is our main character. She's really complexed and if it wasn't for her husband, she'd probably be on a killing spree in a blink of an eye. The Order raised her to hunt vampires, but after living over two hundred years, she doesn't stop there, but hunts also demons. And as you probably guessed, she's vampire herself. There's even more to her than that, but I don't want to spoil it for you. Let's just say her parents weren't exactly ordinary either.
Abby definitely is an interesting character, but she wasn't really my favorite.

Because my favorite is Emily! I actually thought at first Emily is the main character. I'm not sure why I made that assumption. Guess I just fell in love with her the second I met her. She has this fierce nature and she's stubborn and loyal and she's just so passionate. I suppose those are the qualities I appreciate in people.
I was warned this book wouldn't be one of those romance-filled books, but I couldn't help hoping that Emily would meet someone. Especially when Abby's married to Noel, it just seems unfair! Pretty twisted logic there, but what can you do!

Then there's the Order. They're training vampire hunters, but there's something so off about them! This book paints them as the bad guy, and I think that's pretty fair. And there was so many questions left open in the end. Especially the question.. there's only few hunters, why not train them properly and why not send them out in groups?!

I was quite surprised when I noticed the story was told from several point of views. I have to admit, it took me a while to really get into it. I was actually half way through the book until I finally got it.
Before that I felt kind of distant to the story and the characters, but then the action really started and I couldn't stop reading. And there really is a lot of action and that's probably why I had so much trouble to focus in the story. I usually prefer books concentrated on people's thoughts and emotions, and want to know every little detail behind their actions. But in the end I did manage to get lost in the story mainly because some of the secrets were revealed and there's even more action!
There's also some funny moments, and since I really appreciate a good laugh, I enjoyed the book even more.

So, whether you're an action lover or an emotion dweller (it definitely is a word!), you definitely should check this out!

I saw this on NetGalley and since there's angels and demons involved, I just had to read it! Aaaand I was like yay when reading it. Until I was about halfway through and it was just.. nay.

Our main character is Brielle, a ballerina/model who's just lost her best friend and moves back home to live with her dad.
Everything's the same in her hometown, except there's a new guy, Jake. Brielle realizes Jake really isn't like everyone else and soon both's secrets start to unravel.

I'll start with the first half of the book. Brielle comes to her hometown and you're almost immediately pulled inside the story. What is this huge secret Brielle is hiding? We know it's about her best friend, who died, and Brielle blames herself. That's pretty common, but it seems like Brielle really did something and is actually guilty of something.
Then we meet Jake, who seems like a fun guy. He's relaxed and outgoing and you just have to like him. But there's something weird about him, with his hot hands and guardian Canaan.
There's some really funny moments and it's hard to stop reading! All the mysteries just takes a hold of you, and Brielle's and Jake's relationship just sweeps you off your feet.
Jake really makes Brielle open up and even though this is a book about angels and demons, the spotlight is in Brielle and Jake.

Then everything went to h*ll.

I've read many books about angels and demons and they've been great. Angels and demons has been part of the same mythological world as vampires, werewolves, you name it.
And that's what I love! Everything is possible. Especially when author manages to create a whole new storyworld and characters and bring out their original point of view. There might have been a little religion somewhere in the story, especially when angels involved, but those books have been open minded and not preached. There may have been some involment with some gods, but again, without preachy.

I thought this would be one of those books. But then I was proven so, so wrong. I had read first half of the book and was so excited! But then the preaching started and I felt ambushed.
It took me week to finish this book, because I just didn't want to keep reading. As soon as the whole Jesus-preaching started, I wanted to throw the book away and forget about it. I was so convinced I would love this book to the end, so the disappointment was overwhelming. I expected something original and a whole new world, but all I got was the same old things church tells to everyone.
I was also little put off when Jake tells Brielle that one day he'll propose to her. Okay, so now he's promised to marry you some day, so now you can start making out, maybe even get to first or even to second base? Because otherwise it would be so bad to make out with someone. Sure.
I may have been able to keep reading with straight face, but when there was this scene where Jake preaches about his god for like five pages, I just wanted to torch the book. That would have been great opportunity to come up with your own thoughts, but no, author decided it was best to repeat the same old stuff. And if only there had been some logic in it, but no.

So, you can read this, but I only recommend reading the first half of the book, since that was the only enjoyable part. And I would've given one cupcake, but since the start was great, I was forced to give two.
