Waiting on Wednesday #16

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

One Moment by Kristina McBride

Expected publication June 26th 2012

This was supposed to be the best summer of Maggie’s life. Now it's the one she'd do anything to forget.

Maggie Reynolds remembers hanging out at the gorge with her closest friends after a blowout party the night before. She remembers climbing the trail hand in hand with her perfect boyfriend, Joey. She remembers that last kiss, soft, lingering, and meant to reassure her. So why can’t she remember what happened in the moment before they were supposed to dive? Why was she left cowering at the top of the cliff, while Joey floated in the water below – dead?

As Maggie’s memories return in snatches, nothing seems to make sense. Why was Joey acting so strangely at the party? Where did he go after taking her home? And if Joey was keeping these secrets, what else was he hiding?

The latest novel from the author of The Tension of Opposites, One Moment is a mysterious, searing look at how an instant can change everything you believe about the world around you.

The premise reminds me a bit of The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer! But One Moment sounds really good. Great pick!

Ajoop @ on books!

Wow! This sounds like such a good read. Really, really emotional and powerful and raw and rich and just great! I hadn't heard of it before and I haven't read The Tension Opposites but I'm now tempted to do so!
This does just seem incredible so thank you for sharing and putting it on my radar!

Here's what I'm Waiting On this week!

I don't like feet on covers, but the content of the book sounds pretty great, and as Petra said, intense. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us! <3

I didn't even think about the feet before, now that's all I can see :D
And good to hear you like it :)

Well, there isn't THAT much else on the cover. ;P

I was concentrating more to the color tones, but now it's all feet! And ugly jeans. :DD
